As a society and church, our consumption of media is becoming increasingly aligned with our view of the world – and the consequences of these divisions are becoming more obvious by the day; families and churches are divided, people are confused and looking for easy explanations, frustrations run deep and mistrust is building over the issue of Covid-19.
But underneath our choice of news is a far bigger and more interesting story. Join writer Brad Kelly on neutral ground in this 5-hour workshop away from our echo-chambers, as we explore the nuts and bolts of social media and church in the age of Covid-19. Discover how we got here and what we can do to cut the fuse of division.
This course is for pastors, leaders, school principals and friends or family of those worried by the influence of social media – from whatever side of the debate – who are looking for a way out by understanding the online world in the era of Covid-19.

About the Presenter
Brad Kelly (BA, Grad Dip. Ed, MEd Leadership) is a writer, social media strategist, teacher and professional learning coach with 20 years teaching students and teachers. He spent 15 years teaching in a Christian school and has taught over 1,000 teachers how to get more out of literacy. Brad has professionally published – give or take a few hundred words – about 562,000 words. He has authored five history textbooks with Cengage Nelson including The Cold War 1945-1991 (2018), The World Order 1991-2011 (2018), Investigating Modern History (2018) and more. He has been a presenter at HTA NSW, TTA professional learning, consults schools on improving writing instruction and literacy, and he is the founder of Cornerstone Teacher Learning, The Pencil and Pad and The Writing Hedge.
